Information based on current research for Mainland China residents wishing to live and work in the Federal Republic of Germany.
Mainland residents primarily utilize the EU Blue Card, the Skilled Worker Visa, and the new Opportunity Card (Chancenkarte). Recognition of academic and vocational qualifications (ZAB/Anabin) is a mandatory first step.
For highly qualified workers with a degree recognized in Germany and a job offer from a German employer meeting salary thresholds.
The new points-based "Chancenkarte". Allows you to search for a job in Germany for up to 1 year while supporting yourself through part-time work.
For individuals with vocational training or a degree recognized as equivalent in Germany. Requires a concrete job offer.
Check your degree on 'Anabin' or apply for a Statement of Comparability from the ZAB in Bonn.
Submit your application at the German Embassy in Beijing or Consulates General (Shanghai, Guangzhou, etc.).
Travel to Germany and perform "Anmeldung" (address registration) within 14 days of arrival.
Convert your entry visa into a long-term residence permit at the local Ausländerbehörde.
