Available Visa Types for UK Citizens

British citizens can apply for several work routes including the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV), Youth Mobility (Working Holiday), and Specific Purpose Work Visa. Note that the UK has a larger Working Holiday quota compared to many other countries.

AEWV

The main work visa requiring a job offer from an accredited New Zealand employer.

Youth Mobility

The working holiday scheme for young adults. UK has a dedicated quota for this route.

For short-term, specialized work or professional engagements in New Zealand.

General Requirements

Valid Passport (for full duration of stay)
Job offer from an accredited employer (except WHV)
Proof of qualifications and relevant experience
Medical certificate (chest X-ray & exam)
Proof of financial means & good character

Typical Process

For AEWV, the employer must request a Job Check and issue a Job Token to you.

Online Application

Submit your application via the Immigration New Zealand portal and pay the fee.

Biometrics & Processing

Attend a VAC if requested. Processing typically takes 3–8 weeks. Receive eVisa by email.
